Wide Variety and Range of Different iPod Accessories

Radio and Docking Systems

There is no dearth of things to attach to an iPod and the number of different accessories available is only as limited as its usage, i.e. everything and anything is available as an iPod accessory. Take for instance the iLuv i7500 2.1 – Channel Mini Audio System sold by iLuv, a unit of jWIN. Sold for $200, it is a 2.1 channel component speaker system having an integrated iPod dock, a CD player, memory card and USB ports as well as FM/AM radio and a clock, which though not fancy is simple and handy and these iPod accessories, when attached, enable the user to play MP3 files, even from a number of non-iPod devices. It also has infra-red remote that can be used for iPods as well as non iPods.

But, all is not perfect with the iLuv i7500 2.1 – Channel Mini Audio System as it has some serious problems with docking, which results in unexpected pause situations and volume related problems such as near muting. One major reason for these problems is that it supports only MP3, especially on the iPod shuffle, and not the iTunes Music Store AAC files and so, for the price, it has to be said that the audio output is not up to par as it does not even have provision for connecting other devices for audio input.

Apple’s Range of iPod Accessories

No information about iPod accessories would be complete without mentioning Apple’s iPod accessories range and one such accessory is its very unique and colorful Apple iPod Sock, which retails at about $29 and is a great embellishment as well as protective cover for an iPod. You may be thinking that this accessory is only for Apple iPods, but the truth is that it fits all iPods, regardless of their make and it also comes in a package of six different colors to suit every mood. It is as easy to use as putting on one’s socks and to use it, all that needs to be done is to keep the iPod safe within the sock and only take it out for changing playlists or for docking.

As mentioned, the list of possible iPod accessories is endless, but these are some of the more popular and widely used accessories. There are FM Transmitters, cases and skins, the ubiquitous headphones, cables and docks, external speakers, battery chargers and additional batteries, accessories to play the iPod in a car, remotes and just about everything else such as gadgets that will help in making your iPod life that much easier. All in all, using these accessories with the iPod will transform your iPod listening to a whole new and vibrant experience and the money spent will go the extra mile. iPod accessories are cheap to buy and fun to have.
